What to Expect

Treatment will always be catered to each individual. Everybody is different and treatment needs vary, communication with your therapist is crucial to your recovery. We value the patient's feedback and want you to be an active participant in setting your treatment goals.
Physical Therapy treatment in our office includes 60 minutes of dedicated one on one time with your therapist.  This can include manual (hands-on) therapy, corrective exercise prescription, and setting you up for success through consistent home programming.  Beyond traditional exercise prescription, we aim to provide our patients with functional, workout style home exercises.

For our younger population, physical therapy sessions will include therapeutic play and family education to set you up for success at home.  Kids learn the best through play and we love providing families with the tools they need to encourage appropriate gross motor development, improve sensory regulation, and thrive through childhood!

Because our approach is more focused one on one care than the traditional PT setting, we are able to see patients less frequently, while achieving excellent outcomes.

Your First Visit

The first visit focuses on getting to know you and finding out what brings you to us. At Midwestern Built Physical Therapy we believe greatly in evaluating a whole person. Whether you are coming to see us for shoulder pain, you’ve just had surgery, you are bringing your child in for developmental concerns. We will spend your first session getting to know you, understanding your concerns, and developing a plan to help you achieve your goals.

In some cases, pain in one area of the body may be due to altered movement patterns or muscle weakness in a different area.  It is important to assess full functional movement to provide the highest quality of physical therapy care. Rather than focus on one specific area of weakness, we focus on functional rehabilitation focused on the ability to complete your everyday tasks from carrying groceries to performing in the gym.

To help with this, we ask that you come in “comfortable clothing.”  Anything that you would normally wear to exercise, including comfortable footwear.  We also ask that the intake form be filled out online prior to your initial visit. This will allow more time for getting to know you and your goals at that initial visit.
